Origins:   Chat or Chaat are a category of snack dishes, served widely by street vendors in India. These dishes are vast, but commonly are combined with some type of crunchy fried dough, consisting of sweet, salty, sour and spicy ingredients. Most chat dishes originated in or near the Uttar Pradesh region of India and can be traced back to the late 17th century. Chat Masala is a seasoning or blend used as a flavor enhancer for these category of dishes. 

Culinary Uses:   A versatile  condiment that perks up the flavor of any dish, this all purpose seasoning can be sprinkled over fruits and vegetables. Chat Masala seasoning consists of a combination of black salt, amchur, cumin, coriander, black pepper, ginger and chili powder.  The seasoning offers a salty, tangy, and slight spicy flavor and can be used over finished foods such as salads and grilled meats.
